Conservancy overview
Woodworth Lake Conservancy was established as part of government’s land use decision for the North Coast planning area.
The conservancy contains the entire watershed of the Shawatlan River, including Woodworth, Shawatlan and Mahlon lakes. The conservancy protects the domestic water supply for the City of Prince Rupert and locally important salmon spawning grounds.

The conservancy is located approximately seven kilometres northeast of Prince Rupert.
