Donating to BC Parks is a great way to support our work. There are plenty of ways to donate, either directly or through our official charitable partner, the BC Parks Foundation. This page explains the options, so you can pick the best one for you.
Donate to the BC Parks Foundation
The BC Parks Foundation is an independent charity, established in 2017. The Foundation’s mission is to pass on the legacy of British Columbia’s provincial parks, so that they stay beautiful. For all. Forever.
The BC Parks Foundation accepts donations by credit card, cheque, and e-transfer, or via securities (stock). The Foundation can also accept gifts through estates and wills. All donations are tax deductible.
The Foundation would love to hear from you. As the official charitable partner of BC Parks, it encourages individuals, businesses, and other organizations that love B.C.’s parks and protected areas to donate today.

Donate Land
The Province of British Columbia accepts donations of land that will enhance B.C.’s parks and protected areas. These donations are tax deductible, provided they are not required as compensation for a subdivision. Potential donations are evaluated by asking questions like:
- Is some or all the land in an existing park?
- Does the land connect two existing parks?
- Will the land provide recreational opportunities?
Another important consideration is the land’s role in protecting the natural environment. The Province participates in the Federal Ecological Gifts Program, which offers tax benefits to landowners who donate ecologically sensitive land.
BC Parks partners with individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations to acquire land for inclusion in parks, protected areas, wildlife management areas, and other conservation areas. To learn more, visit the land acquisition partnerships page.
We can also accept donations of money to help with specific land acquisition projects.
Interested in donating land to BC Parks? Contact our land acquisition negotiator, Megan Cullinane at Megan.Cullinane@gov.bc.ca or 250-312-7448.
Commemorative Gifting
The BC Parks commemorative gifting program is on hold while we assess its effectiveness. We are currently unable to receive donations of commemorative park benches or other facilities. If you want to be notified when this changes, please contact bcparksdonations@gov.bc.ca.
Park Enhancement Fund
The Park Enhancement Fund (PEF) was established in 2008 by the Special Accounts Appropriation and Controls Act. The PEF allows BC Parks to accept revenue from donations, camping reservation charges, and partnerships, among other sources.
The Fund supports various projects that enhance the park system, including:
- The BC Parks Licence Plate Program, which supports hundreds of projects, including conservation and visitor experience initiatives and the Student Ranger program.
- Volunteer-led conservation and recreation projects. Keep an eye on our social media channels each spring for opportunities to get your project funded.
Donate to the PEF
Donations of $25 or more are tax deductible, and official tax receipts are automatically emailed when you donate online. If you would like to give a gift to a specific project or donate by cheque, please contact bcparks.donations@gov.bc.ca.
Leave a Legacy
We are often asked how to bequeath all or part of an estate to support BC Parks. This is most easily done through our official charitable partner, the BC Parks Foundation. The Foundation can accept gifts through estates and wills, and these donations are tax deductible.
