You can now book a BC Parks camping reservation four months ahead of your planned arrival. See booking window, below, for more details.
BC Parks is committed to delivering a more user-friendly experience for campers and all park visitors. After listening to your feedback over the past three years, we launched a new online reservation service in March 2022.
This new service includes more flexible search options to help you find and book a campsite. It also features handy maps, calendars, and lists of available campsites, for quicker navigation.
The new reservation service is available at camping.bcparks.ca.
Booking window
As of January 3, 2023, BC Parks camping reservations have moved to a four-month rolling window. You can now book a campsite four months in advance of your desired arrival date. New campsites become available at 7am every day.
Example: If you want to arrive on July 25, you can book your entire stay after 7am on March 25.
This booking window applies to all regular frontcountry and backcountry campsite reservations. Groupsite and picnic shelter reservations can be booked a year in advance. Reservations for the Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit opened for the 2023 season on December 1, 2022.
Managing high visitor demand
BC Parks expects continued high demand for summer camping opportunities in 2023. We have taken proactive measures to manage the demand, including:
- Releasing sites over a longer period (see booking window, above)
- Increasing our web server capacity to handle high traffic volumes
- Maximizing call centre staffing to assist with phone bookings

First come, first served camping
While reservations for camping in BC Parks are in high demand, we recognize that many campers need more flexible options. Approximately 45% of our campsites remain available on a first come, first served basis. This includes sites at some of our most popular campgrounds.
To learn if the park you are visiting offers advance booking, find its webpage. The park’s page will also tell you when reservations are available and provide details of amenities available at the park. Campgrounds that do not offer reservations are available entirely on a first come, first served basis.
