Northern Rocky Mountains Management Planning

BC Parks is in the process of developing a management plan for Northern Rocky Mountains Park and Northern Rocky Mountains Protected Area.

Management Planning Schedule

Stage 1: Initial Planning (complete)

Stage 2: Development of the Draft Management Plan (complete)

Stage 3: Draft Management Plan Open for Public Review and Comment (complete)

  • A draft management plan was open for public comment from January 31 to March 31, 2019. Two public information sessions were held on February 22, 2019 in Fort Nelson and again on March 8, 2019 in Fort St. John. Online comment forms and hard copy comments forms focused on the draft management plan were also submitted to BC Parks.

Stage 4: Development and Approval of the Final Approved Management Plan (complete)

  • Northern Rocky Mountain Park Management Plan [PDF].
    The management plan for Northern Rocky Mountain Park was signed by Honourable George Heyman, Minister responsible for BC Parks, under authority of the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act on June 14, 2021.
