Muskwa-Kechika Protected Areas Strategic Management Plan
BC Parks is developing a strategic management plan for twenty individual parks, protected areas, and ecological reserves within the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area in Northern BC. The strategic management plan will fulfill a legislated strategic planning commitment of the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act.
The following protected areas will be included in the plan:

Stage 1: Initial Planning (current stage)
During this stage, the planning team will gather initial comments from First Nations, the public and interest holders to identify the values, vision (the desired future condition) and principles that will guide future management of the protected areas. The goal of this stage is to determine key management issues.
Engagement with First Nations, stakeholders and interest holders has been initiated.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions on how you would like the protected areas to be managed. The initial public comment period ran from May to September 2020 and is now closed.
