Management Planning Process

  • Stage 1: Initial Planning (current stage)

    BC Parks’ Planning Section (Okanagan) is seeking input during the initial planning stage to help inform the development of a draft management plan for Cathedral Park/Protected Area. A brief overview of the planning process and background on the park/protected area and its current management issues and opportunities is included in the links below. In addition, a public comment form is also available in hard copy and online medium. The deadline for comments and input on the initial planning stage is October 31, 2021.

  • Stage 2: Development of the Draft Management Plan

  • Stage 3: Draft Park Management Plan Open for Public Review and Comment

  • Stage 4: Development and Approval of the Final Approved Management Plan

Background Information

There is currently no valid management plan for Cathedral Park/Protected Area. The Cathedral Park Master Plan (1989) and Background Report (1988) will help inform the new management plan for the park. Owing to its high recreational popularity, significant conservation and cultural values there are various issues and opportunities that will be addressed in the new management plan for the park and protected area.
